Captain Kirkland Trew was flying his private spaceship back from a visit to a neighboring planet when it happened. A massive meteor shower entered the Milky Way and took out a large chunk of his ship. Hurdling toward Earth he had no choice but to eject and ended up in the Atlantic Ocean. Viciously wounded from the attack his body was mangled and barely survived the impact. He swam to the nearest city which happened to be Paragon City. Once there he found the meteorites had landed here and quickly went to meet whatever would emerge from them. The surgeons of Paragon City were able to take Captain Trew and tried their best to fix up his body, but to no avail. Using the assistance of Positron's technology they were able to extract his brain and optical nerves with his eyes and transfer them to a cyborg body. With his massive Carbon Energy Rifle and various technologically advanced gadgets he vowed that not only would they pay for destroying his ship and body but for stranding him on such a primitive planet as Earth. Known to the locals as Binary Flow he is stuck here on Earth trying to piece together a ship so he can return home to his own galaxy, until then he will combat the Shivan threat as well as any other villains foolish enough to stand in front of his gun CERA.
