Often in the public eye, the mutant superhero known as Fade is a light-hearted, goofy guy that loves to be in the limelight. Known for his bright energy assaults and even brighter blue hair, his exterior of a care free thrillseeker might just be a front to mask some deep, emotional pain.

Born in the Council-controlled dimension designated "Omega Omicron 26-20", Will King was abandoned by his parents for his obvious mutant traits. In the Council's eyes, mutants were a threat to their power, so they treated them like scum to give the facist nation a "common enemy". Will was discovered and taken in by a family against the Council's prejudices towards Mutants. He grew up resentful of the Council Empire, and at the age of 16 started to train his powers and rebel. He joined a group of both mutants and non-mutants opposed to the Council Empire's regime, which grew in size and power over the course of a few months.

While launching a small-scale attack on a Council base to disrupt communications, destroy weapons and hopefully put an end to the reign of the Council Empire, Will's squad discovered some advanced technology. When one young mutant accidentally turned it on while Will was inside examining, Will was sent to this dimension. The makeshift dimensional portal drained his energy, and he collapsed in a Council operated base. A group of Fusioneers discovered his not-moving body, and had him transported to the Fusion Force medbay.

In an interview with a late-night talk show, Fade explained "As bad as it sounds, Omega Omicron 26-20 isn't going to get any more conquered. I am of much more use here, where I can help."
