Valoran is the Praetorian dimension's Parthenon, but in this reality his story varies drastically. A few years into Lord Infinitum's tyrannical reign upon his homeworld in the Praetorian dimension, Valoran rose up in defiance of the wicked despot. As opposed to the Primal dimension, wherein Parth was defeated by the Lord and driven from his homeworld, Valoran was able to overcome the dark tyrant and raise his people out of the clutches of oppression and control. Immediately hailed as a hero and the people's savior, he was loved by everyone and soon became the de facto leader of the civilization. But being a humble creature and pining for the days when his people existed as a utopian pseudo-democracy, he left the planet for fear that his people were building his pedestal too high. He believed, possibly correctly, that his people had grown used to the comfort a dictator brings and in defeating Lord Infinitum he had only inserted himself as the new ruler.

When he left his planet, he also laid out a set of laws for the people to abide by, all of which strove to return his people to their previous ways of governance and social order before Lord Infinitum rose to power. (For the inspiration here, see Solon's acts as archon of Athens c. early 6th century BC, specifically what he did after he was done reforming the city-state).

Valoran saw it as his chance to truly learn about life, law, and how to effectively run a state...or if his people even truly needed any type of government in order to prosper. Since his people live for millennia at a time, they view time much slower than we do. By our clock he left many centuries ago (the same time Parth was banished in the Primal dimension), but to his people it seems like only a few years.

After making his way to Earth, he quickly found the people of Praetoria under the iron fist of Marcus Cole and his Praetors. Knowing full well the type of anguish and terror the rule of a tyrant can cause, he found his way to the Resistance underground and offered to aid them in bringing Cole down. He would have gone straight for Cole himself, but his power had been drained by the long interstellar journey and he was smart enough to know that he needed more information on the man himself before he charged headlong into battle with him.

Being that he has not been cut off from his homeworld for centuries as Parthenon has, he maintains the powers of his people, namely the ability to wield devastating cosmic energy. However, he does not possess the heights of physical resistance shown by Parthenon, for he both has not been empowered by the goddess Athena and the energy housed within him is still active, i.e. it has not been absorbed into his skin to make a near impenetrable hide.

Valoran is also further removed from the human condition and lacks Parthenon's investment in humanity. While he cherishes all life and strives to protect innocents, especially those being threatened with tyranny, it will take time for him to be seen as the champion of Earth Parthenon has shown himself to be. He is more distant, he is more alien. He is, quite possibly, more powerful.

There are open questions for Valoran at this point. Will he see that Earth and humanity as a whole is a cause deserving of a protector like himself? Will he be able to shorten the gap between himself and this world? Will he find the answers he's looking for regarding how to lead his people? Will he and Parthenon become friends? Will he be able to reacquaint Parthenon with his people? Did the laws he left behind for his people work or have they slipped into anarchy in his absence? Do they resent him for leaving them? All will hopefully be revealed in the coming weeks, months, and years.
