The shivan attack on Galaxy City came without warning. Building were
destroyed. Lives was lost. The heroes were struggling to just contain
the invasion. Capable citizens were fighting alone side of the heroes
if they were able. All resources were brought in to assist in the
fight. Tim Shatterly was no exception. A construction designer/
contractor who just lost his entire business. His entire lives work
destroyed in one blast from a Shivan meteor. Tim was at a clients
when he saw the news and heard the impacts of the meteors. He dropped
everything and high tailed it back to his home office only to find a
giant burning hole remaining. In despair, he leaped into the hole in
search of his wife and two twin girls who he left napping in the home
when he left only 20 minutes previously.

The meteor that struck his house was an unusual one. This one didn't
carry Shivans, it carried their supplies. In particular, many
canisters of radioactive supplies. Upon impact, the meteor cracked
open and many of the supplies canisters had been ruptured. The number
of RAD units of radiation that Tim absorbed should have killed him.
However, some mutant gene in his system absorbed the radiation and
begin to radically alter his system. Tim was aware something was
happening, but he didn't have time to go see a prominent doctor or
anything, he just knew he had to stop these Shivans using any means
possible. His wife, his children, his home and his business were now
all gone and his life was shattered. He wanted to grieve, but looking
around, he knew this wasn't the time to do so. He directed all this
rage into himself. He knew he must help to stop the Shivans and
prevent them from harming anyone else.

Tim was always the athletic type. He was always a bigger than average
guy and played linebacker in high school football and went to college
on a football scholarship. After college, he started his own
construction business and has been there ever since. Three years ago,
after his twins were born, he signed up at the local gym to take an
introductory class on marital arts to try to get into better shape.

The combination of Tim's mutant gene, his system filled with
adrenaline and the extreme radiation exposure, his body changed. His
reaction time improved by a factor of 100. During one fight with a
Shivan, he was surprised by the fact that he could track individual
bullets being fired from a heroes assault rifle. Not only was his
reaction time improved, he now was able to channel great strength to
his extremities. If he wanted to run really fast and thought about
it, he could. If he wanted to leap over a building and concentrated,
he could. If he wanted to lift a railroad sign to use as a weapon, he
could do that too.

During one fight, multiple Shivans attacked him. Tim was able to hold
his own for a bit but he knew he would get overwhelmed shortly without
any help. A few more heroes appeared and started to assist in the
fight. With the help of these heroes, they managed to defeat every
Shivan. Or so they thought. As the heroes came together to make
introductions, a Shivan rose from behind a chunk of rubble that used
to be part of a building and fired on one of the heroes. Tim
instinctively grabbed the nearest thing to him which was a street
light pole and swung it at the Shivan with incredible might. Upon
impact, the Shivan exploded into gobs of goo all over the street. He
dropped the street light and turned back to the other heroes. He
stuck his hand out and
said,

"Hi, nice to meet you all. You guys can call me NiteStik."
